Do you love decorating with blue? While I can’t say that any one particular color is my all-time favorite, the past couple of years I’ve been enjoying decorating with blue. It is a wonderful foundational color scheme, and the perfect color for accessories no matter what your style is.

I’ve found that blue is a very easy color to live with and works in every shade, so I never grow tired of it. It’s classic, versatile, and timeless. You can mix blues in your home quite easily as you update your décor, because blues don’t all have to match—they just blend together.

Normally I choose neutrals for our walls, but in some rooms I really prefer to be enveloped with color. For my home office, I chose a beautiful navy blue called Rich Navy by Glidden paint. It’s both an energizing and a calming backdrop. I can add in other shades of blue through accessories and they all look lovely together.

While committing to bold blue walls may not be something you’re ready for, it’s easy to simply add touches of blue through pillows, accessories, or collections. A blue and white pairing is always a crisp and classic choice. When various shades of blue are paired with neutrals and natural wood tones, you’ll have a beautiful combination of color and texture for your home.
