Weekend Project: Paint a Bathroom Vanity
One of the most affordable ways to transform your bathroom is to paint a bathroom vanity you already have in a fresh and inspiring new color. Selecting a new color for your vanity is one of the most significant first steps to designing the new look. But how do you begin to select the right color to paint a bathroom vanity? The color you choose can set the style and mood, or simply coordinate and support the design of other items in your bathroom.
Here are some fresh color ideas and inspiration for how to use color to take any bathroom from blah to wow!
Punch of Pizazz
Perhaps you have a tired wooden vanity that could use a little pizazz. Why not let it be the star of the room? A bright blue like Bright Cornflower Blue in the above example, can take a dreary old cabinet and give it personality. Paint your walls a soft grey (try Misty Evening Silver) and your wall trim white (try Swan White) to complete the room.
If you want a sophisticated look, go for drama with a dark charcoal vanity (try Elegant Charcoal). Mixed with a white counter and medium grey walls (try Pebble Grey). A dark vanity will bring elegance to your bathroom.
Cheerful and Spunky
If you want a spunky and cheery mood for your bathroom, give it a punch of summer citrus (try Red Geranium). Dark grey walls (try Cool Metal Work Grey) with white trim (try Marshmallow White) can offer wonderful contrast as companion colors that will help your vanity pop.
Paint colors can change the mood from completely dated to seriously stylish. For a look like this, pick a dark espresso tone (try Deep Onyx). Pair the dark vanity with sea-colored, blue-green walls (try Aqua Chintz).
Clean and Classic
White doesn’t have to be boring. To make it a bit more fun, pair it with textures, patterns and even some other colors. White is always classic. This white vanity is the perfect choice for this space (try Swan White). Add wood textures and wallpaper, or if you are daring, try a hand-painted design or stencil on the walls. If you want to play it safe, pull in color through hand towels and accessories.
