Holiday Bathroom Inspiration: Quick Ideas for a Festive Makeover
A couple of years ago I redid my guest room, and you can use the bathroom design for some holiday bathroom inspiration.
One of the quickest ways to update your bathroom is adding a splash of color with paint and some well-chosen accessories.
When I redid the bathroom, I didn’t want to go with too much color because in a small space, it can feel overwhelming—and for a bathroom, too much color can affect the lighting (and how your makeup appears in the mirror).
So I picked up the mint color I had used in the bedroom, similar to Mint Shake from Glidden paint.
To keep it subtle in the small space, I decided to do a stripe in the middle of the short wall behind the toilet. I divided the wall roughly into three stripes and painted only the middle one mint, and used two white floating shelves to add interest.
Another way to make your bathroom feel a little more festive? Accessories.
In this bathroom, I chose an antiqued metal ampersand, some linen boxes and a succulent plant.
For the holidays, you might consider adding a glittery ceramic deer head or a small artificial tree. You might even consider using some wooden boxes you’ve painted a seasonal color to match your holiday decor, or a nice metallic like gold or silver. You might even consider a non-metallic gold to add holiday warmth like Warm Gold from Glidden paint.
No matter what color you choose, be sure to choose a finish that works well in a bathroom. Semi-gloss is best because it provides a harder finish that’s moisture resistant.
Good luck with your holiday decorating and Happy Holidays!
