I have a very open living area with vaulted ceilings. I have a chocolate brown couch, sage green carpet and gold wing-back recliners that have little flecks of burgundy and brown.
I want to paint the walls with some color. They are stark white right now. I was also thinking of doing an accent wall as well. I need help with paint colors!
Hi Susan!
Since you want to warm up your space a little with color on the walls, you might want to pick a nice warm neutral that ties together all of your existing elements while keeping your space feeling fresh and up to date. Since your furniture is in earth tones, I think keeping that theme for the walls would be the way to go. A warmer neutral on the walls would make your vaulted and open living room feel a bit more cozy, and be a nice backdrop for your furnishings.
Depending on the amount of light you have in the room from windows and the color of your trim work, you might select a lighter or darker paint for the walls. Three options I would try are Olive Wood, Surrey Beige and Chatham Green. If you prefer something in the yellow family, Wishes or Autumn Haze by Glidden might be good options. I would suggest you get samples of several paint options and try them on various walls until you find something that is just right for your space! Good luck!
